Chris Kent's Kicks Club needed a new CMS Joomla! site to allow them to post events, news and timetables as well as a framework for an e-commerce shop which will be implemented at a later date.
The first major requirement for the club was to have a content management system that would enable them to add, edit and track items on the website without needing significant technical skills. Joomla! CMS was the perfect open source solution enabling them not only to create content quickly and add this to the website but also create and manage a complex set timetables for all their clubs. We also added the framework of an e-commerce solution, which, once they wish to proceed will enable them to sell equipment via the website.
We also added a flash slide in at the top and optimised the SEO of the website using server side technologies enabling them a significant rank on Google achieved within one month of launch for key words such as “Kickboxing Brighton”, “Karate Brighton” and “Kicks”.
The site is a significant size and shows how Joomla! scales very from small micro-sites to extended news and community sites.
Like all our open source solutions the code is owned by the client and can be transferred to any service or be modified and extended by any one of the thousands of Joomla! developers, we do not tie you into any proprietary service, the website is 100% yours.
